background

Waiver

Article 1 - General
Although we have taken necessary precautions and safety measures, there are always risks associated with the activities we provide. By participating in the escape experience, the participant acknowledges and accepts the terms of this liability waiver. Participation in the escape experience means that the participant fully understands and accepts the risks of the activity.

Article 2 - Acceptance of Risk
The participant acknowledges the thrilling nature of the escape experience, including potential physical and mental challenges. There are stairs and steps to navigate, as well as low ceilings and structures. Light shows and smoke machines are used. The participant understands that there is always a risk of physical or psychological harm, such as unintended collisions, injuries, fear reactions, or stress. The participant fully accepts this risk and releases Escaperoom Antwerp, its staff, guides, directors, and other involved parties from any liability regarding potential damages, losses, death, injuries, or harm resulting from participation in the escape experience.

Article 3 - Exclusion of Liability
Escaperoom Antwerp, its employees, and other representatives are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or accident occurring during or in connection with the use of the escape experience. This includes both direct and indirect damages, including damage to the participant’s property and harm caused by death or physical injury. Escaperoom Antwerp is not responsible for theft or loss of personal belongings. The use of the cloakroom does not constitute a safekeeping agreement. The participant understands that the escape experience may include unexpected twists, frightening passages, physical activities, mental challenges, and other risky elements that may not be entirely foreseeable or controllable. The participant acknowledges that the organization is not liable for any consequences of participation.

Article 4 - Participant’s Own Responsibilities
The participant declares that they are responsible for their own safety while taking part in the escape experience. The participant is required to:

1. Follow the instructions of the game, staff, and guides of the escape experience at all times.
2. Strictly adhere to all safety measures and guidelines, remain within the designated play area, and never run or touch the actors/guides.
3. Be aware of their own physical and mental health condition and acknowledge that participation in the escape experience may not be suitable for certain individuals (e.g., those with heart or respiratory issues, dust allergies, epilepsy, pregnant women, individuals with mobility issues, or persons with disabilities that make it difficult to react quickly to unexpected situations).
4. Avoid causing damage to the property of the escape experience or other participants.
5. Understand that the challenges in the game are primarily mental exercises. No heavy objects need to be moved, and no physical strength is required. Any excessive use of force will be considered vandalism. Scratching, removing adhesives, unscrewing bulbs, or dropping parts is also considered vandalism. It is not permitted to look directly into light sources, lasers, or smoke machines. Objects marked as not being part of the game should not be touched. If these rules are violated, Escaperoom Antwerp reserves the right to recover damages from the responsible party.

Article 5 - Final Provisions
This liability waiver is binding for the participant and serves as a declaration of voluntary and informed consent to the risks associated with participation in the escape experience. The participant fully understands the contents of this waiver and releases the organization from any liability.

By participating in the escape experience, the participant expressly declares that they have read, understood, and accepted this liability waiver.
